What is a Postpartum Doula?
A Postpartum Doula is someone who is trained in supporting you and your family after your baby arrives, usually beginning once you arrive home from the hospital.
Postpartum Doula support includes:
– Emotional support and reassurance.
– Someone to listen to your thoughts around your birth and to support you in processing that experience.
– Support with breast/chest feeding, including ways for your partner to be involved.
– Support with infant care (bathing, holding, diaper changing etc..).
– Ideas for soothing your little one.
– Support with self-care.
– Light meal prep & housework, shopping and errands.
– Help with older children.
– Support in finding evidence-based resources surrounding your postpartum.
– Support in finding postpartum care providers (eg lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists etc…) where necessary.
Virtual Postpartum Doula Services
Virtual services will suit those who do not envision having a doula at home but who still want support and someone to turn to once their baby arrives.
Virtual support includes:
– Emotional support and reassurance.
– Someone to listen to your thoughts around your birth and to help you process that experience.
– Breast/chest feeding support via video.
– Ideas for how to handle the overwhelm.
– Suggestions for carving out just a little time for yourself.
– Evidence-based resources for your postpartum journey.
– Support in finding postpartum care providers (eg lactation specialists, pelvic floor therapists etc) where necessary.
Postpartum doula packages:
In-person services:
– Ten hour package: 4750 kr.
– Twenty hour package: 8500 kr.
or
– 495 kr per hour with a minimum booking of two hours.
– Birth clients who book a postpartum package will receive a 10% discount.
– Additional hours can be booked with a 10% discount for a booking of ten or more additional hours.
Virtual services:
– Three, sixty minute video calls: 1250 kr.
– Additional or individual calls can be booked at 425 kr per hour.
